If you ask local which street food you HAVE TO TRY in Malioboro, probably theyโll answer Lumpia Samijaya. Been there since 1976, with small white wooden cart. Since then, people willing to queue for hours just to get a bite, from 8am to 9pm! Filled with shredded chicken and veggies, mostly bean sprouts and carrots, you can choose standard (IDR5K/$3.5) or special with quail eggs (IDR6K/$4). Usually they deep fried them untul the color change into golden brown. But you can also order โlumpia basahโ or unfried ones.

You can order as much as you want, and eat it right away. Just sit anywhere around the cart. I prefer took it away, since at that time too many people queing there. They topped it with shredded garlic and cengek (chilli pepper) for more kick.ย
Itโs crispy on the outside and delicious inside. The seasoning is not too overpower, just the right amount of umami.ย
Aftwerwards you can fight count dracula ๐ ย
