Sawahlunto is a mining town in West Sumatera. It was known as the
prominent coal industry in Dutch colonialism. However, things had
changed after 120 years. Coal resources are depleting. Even in recent
years more than 10,000 people move to other cities.

“We do not want Sawahlunto to become a ghost city,” the Mayor of Sawahlunto, Amran Nur, said.
An effort to enliven the city is by turning it into cultural mining
