Sam Smith lahir di London pada Mei 1992 dan mulai bernyanyi di usia muda. Dia pertama kali di kenal publik karena kolaboranya dengan Disclosure untuk lagu Latch berhasil memasuki Chart musik di tahun 2012. dan kemudian Smith merilis lagu Lay Me Down, Pada tahun 2014, Smith merilis In the Lonely Hour, berisi hit sukses “Stay With Me,”. Untuk album In the Lonely Hour, Smith dianugerahi empat Grammy, di antaranya Song of the Year dan Record of the Year.
